I work both on location and in the studio, depending on the intent of the piece. I paint scenes and settings that inspire me, even though the majority of my paintings are Black Hills landscapes, I also enjoy painting parks, gardens, and architectural subjects". Steve is a native of South Dakota and grew up in the mining town of Lead. He has lived a varied life working as a gold miner, truck driver, musician, draftsman, illustrator, and digitizer for the embroidery industry, but his love is painting.
